Capt. Mike was born on Marathon Key in
1963 and raised on Lower Matecumbe
Key.  He has been fishing the waters of the
Florida Keys offshore and backcountry
since childhood under the tutelage of local
captains and mates, including working
during summer school vacations as a
mate on The "Capt. Jack" out of Bud & Mary’
s Marina in Islamorada and later catching
lobster and stone crab on The "Dragnet"
out of Lower Matecumbe Key.  Before
starting his own business, Mike worked as
a mate on the "Yankee Freedom" and
"Yankee Capt's" on trips to the Dry Tortugas
National Park out of Key West.
