The Gold Reserve is a 40 ft. custom built sport fisherman.
She has twin turbo-charged diesel engines, full sized tower,
two running stations and is fully equipped with two sets of
electronics - radios, lorans & bottom machines. She is geared
to the teeth with the best top of the line tackle. She has three
live bait wells capable of holding a thousand or more live baits
of various types. Remember you are fishing in Islamorada
"Live Bait Capital of the World" and this will make the difference
between catching fish or not and how many different kinds of
fishing you can do in one day.
The crew is professional and courteous. They fish for a living
twelve months a year and put out 110% every trip, first to make
sure you have an enjoyable time and second to load the fish box!

Capt. Mel Walker, started bass fishing with his Dad
at the age of 3 in Jacksonville, Fla. While in High
School, Mel played football and baseball, but he quit
playing ball in the 10th grade so that he could spend
more time fishing. He moved to Islamorada right after
high school, working as a mate and captain on the
local party boats and charter boats.
Mel has been fishing out of Holiday Isle for 20 years
and has had some great catches including 7 sailfish
in one day, 3 Blue Marlin in 2 weeks, and lots of great
dolphin catches up to 60 lbs. He has also fished with
some celebrities including Joe DiMaggio. Mel lives
with his wife, Kathy, and two blue heelers, "Buster"
and "Lucy." The Gotcha is available for Full, 1/2 day
and 3/4 day private or split charters.
